Choices Pt 2

Making Good Choices Deuteronomy 30:19 – “This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.” Take a look at the first two words in this verse -“this day.” This is your day to make good decisions. This is your day to create change. It starts today and it starts now! Did you know that good decisions move you forward? And bad decisions move you backwards? No decision keeps you where you are. Today is Sunday. To those of you who have chosen to attend church today – you’ve already made a good choice. Now you can choose your level of participation. Choose your level of worship. Choose how to listen. Choose how you’re going to receive the message. Choose how you’re going to give in the offering. Choose how you’re going to respond to God. Choose to make new friends. The Choices You Make – Make You

If you want to move from where you are to where God wants you to be, then you are going to have to LEARN how to make good choices. Notice the word “LEARN” is capitalized. You have to learn how to make good choices or good decisions, because we don’t always make good decisions naturally. Sometimes we make decisions based upon emotions, or knee jerk reactions or bad advice. However, we can LEARN how to take good counsel, know what wisdom looks like and sounds like, and we can surround ourselves with wise people. One decision can change the entire direction or course of your life as well as the lives of others. One decision can have enormous affect, either positive or negative. The Roman Emperor, Constantine, chose to become a follower of Christ, and his decision affected countless millions of people. Constantine ruled Rome from 306 AD to 337 AD. Christianity became the religion of Rome, and the Roman Empire was able to spread the message as far north as England and as far east as Turkey.
